Marvel’s Armor Wars enlists its head writer

August 22, 2021 by Gary Collinson

It looks like Marvel Studios has found its head writer for the upcoming Armor Wars series, with THR reporting that comedian and writer Yassir Lester (The Carmichael Show, Girls) has signed on to the Disney+ series.

Armor Wars will mark a reunion for Lester and lead actor Don Cheadle, with the two having previously working together on the Showtime comedy Black Monday, where Lester was a writer and co-executive producer as well as co-starring.

While plot details for Armor Wars are being kept under wraps, we know that the series will see Cheadle back as James Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, as he faces up to Tony Stark’s worst fear – his technology falling into the wrong hands.

As yet, there’s no word as to when we can expect Armor Wars, but 2023 seems a good shout assuming everything progresses smoothly.
