Sterling K. Brown and Randall Park to star in Amazon action comedy

August 19, 2021 by Ricky Church

Amazon Studios has cast Sterling K. Brown (This is Us) and Randall Park (WandaVision) in an untitled action comedy that will be in the vein of 1982’s buddy cop film 48 Hrs, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

The film will see Brown and Park as “two estranged childhood best friends who now find themselves on opposite sides of the law. Framed and on the run, the two must survive each other long enough to clear their names and stop an international criminal enterprise.”

The script is being written by Wu-Tang: An American Saga co-creator Alex Tse. Brown and Park will executive produce through their respective companies Indian Meadows and Imminent Collision. Also producing is Imminent’s Hieu Ho and Michael Golamco with Danielle Reardon as an executive producer.

Brown is currently filming the sixth and final season of the NBC hit series This is Us, for which he has been nominated for various award ceremonies several times now and is currently nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor at the upcoming Emmys.

Park recently reprised his Ant-Man and The Wasp role as FBI agent Jimmy Woo in the Disney+ series WandaVision, showing he mastered many of Scott Lang’s magic tricks between the events of the film and series. Whether Park will be seen again as Woo in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania or another Marvel series remains to be seen, but it is safe to say we haven’t seen the last of Jimmy Woo.
