Amazon developing live-action She-Ra TV series

September 16, 2021 by Gary Collinson

The long-gestating Masters of the Universe movie may be stuck in development hell, but it seems that Prince Adam’s twin sister Princess Adora is set to get the live-action treatment with Variety reporting that a She-Ra series is in development at Amazon.

According to the trade, the series is being executive produced by DreamWorks Animation, the company behind the recent She-Ra and the Princesses of Power animated series on Netflix, but it will not be connected to that show and instead feature a new standalone story.

The alter-ego of Princess Adora, the long-lost twin sister of Price Adam, She-Ra was introduced in the 1985 movie He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword, before headlining her own He-Man and the Masters of the Universe spinoff She-Ra: Princess of Power, which ran for two seasons in 1985 and 1986.

At this point, the She-Ra project is said to be in the very earliest stages of development, with no talent attached in front of or behind the camera as of yet.
