Extraction 2 begins filming in Prague, confirms director Sam Hargrave

November 30, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Director Sam Hargrave has taken to Instagram to confirm that filming has officially begun on Extraction 2, the sequel to Netflix’s hit 2020 action thriller which stars Chris Hemsworth as black-ops mercenary Tyler Rake.

In the Instagram video, Hargrave is walking through a snowy street in Prague, where Extraction 2 just started filming, with Hargrave saying he’s leaving a “train location.” Hargrave continues to say that the constant snow “looks pretty great on camera,” teasing that Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake will be facing some low temperatures in his next adventure after the previous film took place in Bangladesh.

In 2020, the world met a new hero: Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), a fearless black market mercenary who embarks on the deadliest mission of his career. But what seems lost… can still be extracted.

Extraction 2 will see Sam Hargrave returning to the director’s chair, while Joe Russo has once again written the script and will produce alongside Hemsworth and filmmaking partner Anthony Russo under AGBO, the production company headed by the two brothers. There is currently no release date for the upcoming sequel.
