Karen Gillian will team with Suburgatory creator Emily Kapnek and legendary composer Danny Elfman for a new animated adventure. Gillian will voice Rhona in the animated show Rhona Who Lives by the River, coming to Disney+.
Deadline reports that Rhona Who Lives by the River follows “the adventures of Rhona #3 (Gillan), the third-most-interesting Rhona in a small Scottish town, whose life is utterly dull. But after a freak clootie well accident results in bacterial pinkeye and the ability to make her own wishes come true, Rhona’s star finally is on the rise.”

Along with Danny, a music visionary who sees all the magic that’s possible in a story, we know that we are in great hands.”
Gillan is not only set to voice the titular character, but she’ll also serve as an executive producer. The actress has quite the slate ahead of her with sci-fi thriller Dual, action-comedy Shelly, Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder, and James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 all ahead of her.
Deadline did not state when Rhona Who Lives By The River will begin production. It will come from 20th Television Animation with Stoopid Buddy Stoodios providing animation.
