Marvel partners with Skydance for action-adventure video game from Uncharted’s Amy Hennig

November 1, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Marvel Entertainment and Skydance New Media have announced that they are teaming up for an original action-adventure video game set in the superhero-filled Marvel Universe, which is being spearheaded by Amy Hennig, creative director of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted franchise.

Described as “a narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure game, featuring completely original story and take on the Marvel Universe,” the as-yet-untitled game marks the first project for Skydance’s New Media division, which is headed up by Hennig.

“I can’t imagine a better partner than Marvel for our first game,” states Hennig. “The Marvel Universe epitomizes all the action, mystery and thrills of the pulp adventure genre that I adore and lends itself perfectly to an interactive experience. It’s an honor to be able to tell an original story with all the humanity, complexity, and humor that makes Marvel characters so enduring and to enable our players to embody these heroes that they love.”

“We are enormously excited to be working inside the Marvel Universe to craft a rich narrative of our own,” adds Julian Beak, Executive Vice President & GM, Skydance New Media. “Jay and his team at Marvel Games are helping us make the best experiences imaginable.”

The news follows hot on the heels of Marvel’s latest video game title Guardians of the Galaxy, which was released last month to critical acclaim.
