Return to the source with The Matrix Resurrections poster

November 17, 2021 by Amie Cranswick

With its December release creeping ever closer, the official poster for Lana Wachowski’s action sci-fi sequel The Matrix Resurrections has been released and features the returning Keanu Reeves as Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, as well as franchise newcomers Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Morpheus, Jessica Henwick as Bugs, and a mystery character we’re not really sure on…Eréndira Ibarra perhaps?

Twenty years after the first film, the franchise that helped define pop culture at the turn of the century is back for a continuation and extension of the original movie. The Matrix remains in the zeitgeist as a film that has changed the way we look at cinema and reality itself. With its game-changing action and visual effects, The Matrix helped pave the way for films to follow.”

The Matrix Resurrections reunites director Lana Wachowski with original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss alongside Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman), Jessica Henwick (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), Jonathan Groff (Mindhunter), Neil Patrick Harris (Gone Girl), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico), Christina Ricci (The Addams Family), Telma Hopkins (Dead to Me), Eréndira Ibarra (Sense8), Toby Onwumere (Empire), Max Riemelt (Sense8), Brian J. Smith (Treadstone), and Jada Pinkett Smith (Angel Has Fallen).

The Matrix Resurrections is set for release on December 22nd 2021.
