Atlanta returns with third season in March 2022, trailer coming soon

December 23, 2021 by Ricky Church

After a lengthy three-year hiatus FX’s Atlanta is finally ready to return with its third season. The series, which stars and is executive produced by Donald Glover, will premiere with two episodes on March 24, 2022.

The series will return on FX and will be available to stream the next day on Hulu. In addition to the news, a trailer for the upcoming season will also be released during the NBA games on ESPN and ABC Christmas Day.

Season 3 will take the group out of Atlanta and across Europe as it follows “Earn (Donald Glover), Alfred /Paper Boi’ (Brian Tyree Henry), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield) and Van (Zazie Beetz) in the midst of a successful European tour, as the group navigates their new surroundings as outsiders, and struggle to adjust to the newfound success they had aspired to.”

“We are thrilled to have Atlanta back with a new season on March 24th,” said Eric Schrier, President of FX Entertainment. “Once again, Donald Glover, the producers and stellar cast have delivered another signature season synonymous with the excellence that makes Atlanta so great.”

The third season has been so long to develop because of Glover’s busy schedule with his acting career as well as his music career as Childish Gambino. It also hit a snag last year as the pandemic grew, forcing production to shut down for an extended period of it. However, due to the the production shutdown once they were finally able to shoot again Glover and the production team shot seasons three and four of Atlanta back-to-back, so the wait for the next season should not be as long this time around.

Atlanta will premiere on March 24th, 2022.
