More Doctor Who: Third Doctor Adventures coming in February

December 8, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Doctor Who: Third Doctor Adventures audio dramas relaunches in February 2022 as Big Finish release a brand new epic box set that sees the Doctor take on the Annihilators.  This will be the first of two adventures for the Third Doctor arriving in 2022 with the second adventure arriving in October 2022.

Set in the middle of the TV series’ seventh season, this first ever seven-part audio drama sees the arrival of something green and deadly in the waters of Lewgate Docks.  The Doctor uncovers some sinister goings-on in the city morgue while Dr Liz Shaw attracts the attention of something unearthly.  In the meantime, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart of UNIT is taken to the North of England by some information from a mysterious informer but his investigation is hampered by the local police.

This new adventure for the Third Doctor is a full-cast audio drama and features the voice talents of Tim Treloar, Jon Culshaw and Daisy Ashford.

Producer Heather Challands said: “It’s a fresh start for the Third Doctor Adventures, following the revamp of our Classic Doctor ranges, and what a cracking start we’re off to! I’m thrilled that we’re paying homage to the great serials of Season 7 with our very own seven-part story starring the Third Doctor, Dr Elizabeth Shaw and the ever-dependable Brigadier. It’s a wonderful jumping-on point for those new to the range and a perfect re-introduction for loyal listeners who have been with us from the start. Nick has written a truly wonderful script, with twists and turns and some cracking cliffhangers that are so evocative of that era.”

Doctor Who: Third Doctor Adventures – The Annihilators is available now to pre-order as a collector’s edition CD box set  at £19.99 or a digital download at £16.99.
