Avatar: Adapt or Die limited series launching in May from Dark Horse

It remains to be seen whether we’ll get James Cameron’s Avatar 2 this December (what with it having been delayed eight times already), but we are set for another trip to Pandora this year courtesy of Dark Horse Comics with the announcement of Avatar: Adapt or Die.

From the creative team of writer Corinna Bechko, illustrator Beni R. Lobel, colorist Wes Dzioba and letterer Michael Heisler, the six issue limited series serves as a prequel to the 2009 mega-blockbuster and follows Sigourney Weaver’s character Dr. Grace Augustine during her early years on Pandora.

‘Decades into the advent of the Avatar program on Pandora, pressure to bridge the divide between human and Na’vi has hit a peak. As an ally of the Omatikaya clan, Dr. Grace Augustine begins negotiations to open a school for Na’vi children, but her plans for peace, hope, and unity could trigger an unprecedented disaster—one afflicting the most vulnerable and protected of Na’vi.’

Avatar: Adapt or Die #1 is set for release on May 4th 2022, while Avatar 2 is currently slated to arrive on December 16th 2022. But probably won’t.
