Ryan Reynolds wisecracks with his younger self in clip from The Adam Project

February 22, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

The Adam Project, the upcoming sci-fi adventure from director Shawn Levy, which reunites him with Free Guy star Ryan Reynolds as a pilot who travels into the past to team up with his younger self (Walker Scobell) and his late father (Mark Ruffalo) could very well be Netflix’s first knock-it-out-the-park star-driven streaming blockbuster. The early buzz is good, and the marketing, including this brand new clip featuring Adam squabbling with his younger self, has hit the sweet spot; check it out below….

“Adam Reed, age 13, and still grieving the sudden death of his father a year earlier, walks into his garage one night to find a wounded pilot hiding there. This mysterious pilot turns out to be the older version of himself from the future, where time travel is in its infancy. He has risked everything to come back in time on a secret mission. Together they must embark on an adventure into the past to find their father, set things right, and save the world. The three working together, both young and grown Adam come to terms with the loss of their father and have a chance to heal the wounds that have shaped them. Adding to the challenge of the mission, the two Adams discover they really don’t like each other very much, and if they’re going to save the world, they’re first going to have to figure out how to get along.”

The Adam Project reunites Ryan Reynolds with Free Guy director Shawn Levy and features a cast that includes Jennifer Garner (Alias), Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Mark Ruffalo (Avengers: Endgame), Catherine Keener (Kidding), Alex Mallari, Jr. (Dark Matter) and newcomer Walker Scobell.

The Adam Project arrives on Netflix on March 11th.
