Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow cancelled by The CW

April 30, 2022 by Ricky Church

Sad news for fans of the CW’s Arrowverse as Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow have been cancelled.

The news was announced on Twitter by Batwoman‘s showrunner Caroline Dries. Batwoman ran for three seasons and concluded its finale season in March. Dries said “Just got the sad news that Batwoman will not be seeing an S4. I am bummed, but full of gratitude. What an honor to make 51 episodes. So many inspiring, brilliant people contributed to this series. Thank you producers, cast and crew. Thank you, fans! We love you.”

Series lead Javica Leslie, who took over the role of Batwoman in the second season as a new character donning the cowl, also put out a statement thanking fans for their support and what the role has meant to her:

It has been an honor. Thank you! 🦇 pic.twitter.com/OjbDfXD0YE

Meanwhile, the writer’s room account for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow announced they were not renewed for an eighth season, saying:

We and @BatwomanWriters were holding out hope that we'd both get to come back for another year, but it was not to be. For fans of either/both shows, we're grateful for your support!

With the CW having cancelled Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, that leaves The Flash and Superman & Lois as the only shows left in the Arrowverse. Both shows have already been renewed for a ninth and third season respectively.
