Marvel’s Ironheart Disney+ series has found its directors

The upcoming Disney+ Marvel series Ironheart has found its directors with the Emmy-nominated co-creator of Brown Girls, Sam Bailey, and Mythic Quest and Blindspotting director Angela Barnes have signed on to the series.

In addition to the series finding its directors, Deadline is also reporting that Ryan Coogler’s production company, Proximity, has boarded on as producers. The six episode live-action series will be penned by head writer Chinaka Hodge – whose writing credits include the TNT adaptation of Snowpiercer.

Ironheart will star Dominique Thorne who is set to portray Riri Williams, a young engineering student and super-genius who designs her own Iron Man-style suit of armour using material stolen from her campus and begins fighting crime as the superhero Ironheart. The series will also star young actress Lyric Ross as Williams’ best friend as well as Anthony Ramos (In the Heights, Hamilton) who is believed to be portraying the villain.
