Rachel Zegler to lead voice cast of Apple and Skydance’s Spellbound

April 3, 2022 by Ricky Church

Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) will lead the voice cast of Spellbound, an animated musical from Apple Original Films and Skydance.

Zegler will play Princess Ellian, a “tenacious princess who must go on a daring quest to save her family and kingdom after a mysterious spell transforms her parents into monsters and threatens to cover Lumbria in darkness forever.”

Spellbound will be directed by Vicky Jenson from a script by Mulan duo Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin with Linda Woolverton (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil).

The music of Spellbound will comes from Disney legend Alan Menken, known for his work on classics Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and more with the lyrics written by Glenn Slater. Chris Montan will be the executive music producer while David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, David Lipman and John Lasseter are producing.
