Star Trek: Picard will reunite The Next Generation in third and final season

April 5, 2022 by Gary Collinson

As part of today’s First Contact Day celebrations (April 5th, as depicted in Star Trek: First Contact), Paramount+ has announced that Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard will reunite with his old crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D in the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard.

In addition to Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker), Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) and Brent Spiner (Data), who have already appeared in the Paramount+ show, the final chapter of Picard will also see LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge), Michael Dorn (Worf) and Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher) back for what will presumably be the last time we’ll see the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation together on screen.

“I remember watching the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation almost 34 years ago with my father like it was yesterday. It was the spark that ignited my love for science fiction,” said showrunner . “So, it’s most fitting that the story of Jean-Luc Picard ends honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most loyal friends from the U.S.S. Enterprise. It would be an understatement to say that giving these characters a proper send-off is an honor. The entireStar Trek: Picard team and I can’t wait for fans to experience this final, high-stakes, starship-bound adventure in season three!”
