Dune: Part Two moved to November 2023

June 30, 2022 by Ricky Church

Warner Bros. has announced the wait for Dune: Part Two will be just a little longer as the release has been pushed back from October to November 2023.

Dune: Part Two was originally slated for October 20, 2023, but its new release date is now November 17, 2023. Now reason has been given for the delay, but it will be released in theatres as well as on IMAX screens around the globe.

The film will pick up where the first film left off as Paul and Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), join Arrakis’ native Fremen population and fight against the Harkonnens rule of Arrakis and plan to draw out the Emperor in order to avenge Paul’s father.

Dune: Part Two will begin filming this summer in Budapest, with Villeneuve returning to direct from a script he wrote alongside Jon Spaihts. The first part grossed an impressive pandemic effected $400M at the worldwide box-office for Warner Bros. and Legendary.

Dune: Part Two will see Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin reprising their roles from the first film. Newcomers for the sequel are Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh (Black Widow) as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler (Elvis) as Feyd-Rautha and Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot.

Dune: Part Two will be released November 17th, 2023.
