A fight is coming in The Handmaid’s Tale season 5 trailer

July 14, 2022 by Ricky Church

Hulu has released the first trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale’s fifth season, teasing the fallout of June’s (Elisabeth Moss) actions from the conclusion of season four and the battle between her and Serena Waterford (Yvonne Strahovski). Watch the trailer below…

Season 4 ended with June and a handful of other former Handmaidens ambushing Fred Waterford, June’s former Commander, and brutally murdering him for everything he helped orchestrate as one of Gilead’s leading statesman.

The trailer heavily teases the fallout of June’s actions and how that will place her even further in the eye of Gilead’s retribution as well as the personal battle June hopes to win against her nemesis, Serena.

The official synopsis for season five reads:

June faces consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power. June, Luke and Moira fight Gilead from a distance as they continue their mission to save and reunite with Hannah.
