With a couple of months to go before Yellowjackets returns for its second season, Showtime has released the first official image of Elijah Wood alongside Christina Ricci in the upcoming season.
Wood will portray Walter, a fellow member of the Bureau of Citizen Detectives, an online detective community, as he works alongside Ricci’s mysterious and amoral Misty.
Yellowjackets is created by showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson and features a cast that includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole and Kevin Alves.
New additions to the cast for the second season, which is set to premiere March 24th on Showtime, include Wood, Lauren Ambrose (Servant) as an adult Van, Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as an adult Lottie, Jason Ritter (Raising Dion) in an undisclosed role, Nicole Maines (Supergirl) as Lisa, an associate of adult Lottie, Nia Sondaya (Truth Be Told) replacing Keeya King as teen Akilah and François Arnaud (The Borgias) as Paul, the secret boyfriend of Coach Scott (Steven Kreuger).
YELLOWJACKETS is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.
Yellowjackets season two will premiere March 24th on Showtime.
