Giancarlo Esposito teases potential return for The Boys Season 4

January 17, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Could we see the turn of the deliciously villainous Stan Edgar? Giancarlo Esposito is teasing a possible return for The Boys Season 4, giving us another outing with the former CEO of Vought.

The actor told TVLine that a return isn’t out of the question but wouldn’t give a solid confirmation, stating: “I find The Boys to be a very creepy, interesting, edgy, and sick show — in the best way possible. It’s genius. And… I won’t string it out anymore: I think there is a great chance,” says Esposito.

At the end of The Boys Season 3, Stan Edgar was removed as CEO of Vought International and was replaced by Homelander as CEO. The company has severed ties, and Edgar’s former ally Victoria Neuman denounced him. The exact details of his status are unknown, but we may find out by the start of season four.

The upcoming season will see Rosmarie DeWitt (The Staircase), Rob Benedict (Supernatural), and Elliot Knight (American Gothic) join the cast, with Simon Pegg returning as Hugh Campbell, the father of Jack Quaid’s Hughie. They are the latest to join the fourth season after the casting of Susan Heyward (Orange is the New Black) as Sister Sage, Valorie Curry (The Lost Symbol) as Firecracker, Cameron Crovetti promoted to a series regular role as Homelander’s son Ryan, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead) in an unannounced part.

The Boys season 3 starred Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Tomer Capon, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Erin Moriarty, Jessie Usher, Nathan Mitchell, Chace Crawford, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, Giancarlo Esposito, alongside series newcomers Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) as Crimson Countess, Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) as Soldier Boy, Katia Winter (Sleepy Hollow) as Little Nina, Sean Patrick Flanery (Dexter) as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Blue Hawk, and Miles Gaston Villanueva (Law & Order: True Crime: —The Menendez Murders) as Supersonic.

The Boys Season 4 is in production.
