Brandon Routh joins Quantum Leap reboot

February 16, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Brandon Routh will join Raymond Lee in the new Quantum Leap revival.

IGN reports the Superman Returns actor will appear in an upcoming episode of the series, making his first major television appearance since appearing in The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths saga.

Routh is set to play Alexander Augustine, the father of Addison (Caitlin Bassett). In the episode titled S.O.S., “Ben (Raymond Lee) leaps onto a naval warship during war games in 1989, where he must not only navigate a dangerous rescue mission but also contend with his commanding officer, Alexander.”

In a new statement to IGN, Routh expresses his joy about joining such a noteworthy show. “Growing up watching Quantum Leap, it was an honor to portray such a pivotal character in Addison’s life,” Routh tells IGN. “Ray and Caitlin are a fantastic duo, and I loved being a part of the QL team. As an Iowan, it was also exciting to film on the USS Iowa!”

NBC’s Quantum Leap stars Raymond Lee, Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park, Nanrisa Lee, and Ernie Hudson. The series was renewed for a second season in December.

The S.O.S. episode is scheduled to air on February 27th.
