John Krasinski shares set photos from A Quiet Place: Day One

February 7, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Having handed over directorial duties to Michael Sarnoski, producer John Krasinski has celebrated the start of shooting on blockbuster-prequel A Quiet Place: Day One by posting a series of photos from the set.

Featuring the erstwhile helmer with a clapperboard that bears the films new logo, as well as an on-set huddle between Pig director Sarnoski and the new franchise MVP Lupita Nyong’o, you can check out Krasinski’s Twitter post below….

Requisite photo of slate on day 1… this time with a twist! So honored to be there day 1 of @AQuietPlace DAY ONE with the maestro @MichaelSarnoski and legendary @Lupita_Nyongo Cannot wait to see what magic they conjure in this one! pic.twitter.com/vHTglpgZL2

All is quiet in terms of the plot, but Sarnoski is reportedly working from a story pitched by Krasinski, one that will open up the post-apocalyptic world introduced in the first two hit movies, with the intention of turning it into a lucrative cinematic universe for Paramount.

Starring alongside Lupita Nyong’o in A Quiet Place: Day One is Hereditary‘s Alex Wolff and Stranger Things fan-favourite Jospeh Quinn.

A Quiet Place was a huge critical and commercial success when it opened in 2018, earning $340M at the global box-office. Its sequel, A Quiet Place Part II was one of the first films to be delayed by the pandemic, but despite multiple setbacks, it was eventually released in cinemas, albeit at a time when audiences were still reluctant to return to the multiplex. However it still made an impressive $300M worldwide, which is testament to the world that Krasinski has created.

A Quiet Place: Day One is set to be released in cinemas on March 8th, 2024.
