Liv Tyler to return as Betty Ross in Captain America: New World Order

March 28, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Liv Tyler is returning to the MCU after fifteen years to reprise her role as Betty Ross in Captain America: New World Order.

Deadline confirms that Tyler will return as the daughter of General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, who was played by the late William Hurt in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, and who going forward will be portrayed in the MCU by Harrison Ford.

Tyler, who has since starred in The Leftovers and Ad-Astra, joins Anthony Mackie in the Julius Onah (Overlord) directed sequel, which finds Mackie’s Sam Wilson taking the mantle of Captain America following the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Following on from Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk was only the second film in the embryonic stages of the MCU, and starred Edward Norton in the titular role, a character who has since been embodied by Mark Ruffalo in eight movies and a Disney+ series.
