Sam Worthington, Jordana Brewster and Simu Liu star in trailer for Simulant

March 9, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

What do you get if you cross I, Robot with Blade Runner? The answer appears to be science-fiction thriller Simulant, which has just debuted its first action-packed trailer.

Simulant focuses on Faye (Jordana Brewster), a widowed woman searching for comfort following the loss of her husband Evan (Robbie Amell) by using an android simulant, or SIM, created copying his image. Although almost identical to her husband, she soon realises that she can’t bring herself to love the android in the same way she loved her husband. Determined to win her heart, the A.I. Evan’s exceptional ability to think and feel triggers a manhunt led by government agent Kessler (Sam Worthington) whose job it is to capture potentially dangerous SIMs.

Directed by April Mullen (Wander), Simulant also stars Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and Alicia Sanz (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series); check out the trailer below…

Simulant is released on-demand on May 5th, followed by a day and date theatrical and VOD release on June 2nd.
