Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City trailer is very Wes Anderson

March 29, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Focus Features has debuted a trailer and poster for writer-director Wes Anderson’s next film Asteroid City, a comedy centred on a fictional American desert town in 1955, where a junior stargazer convention is disrupted by… a visitor from outer space?

That doesn’t seem to matter, as the focus instead is on the usual Wes Anderson ensemble along with a little additional A-list power to pack out a cast that includes Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson,, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, and Jeff Goldblum. Watch the trailer below…

The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

Asteroid City arrives in cinemas on June 16th.
