First images from Melissa Barrera horror-comedy Your Monster arrive online

December 10, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Melissa Barrera is looking to rebound off her firing from Scream 7 with a new horror-comedy.

Below, you’ll find the first images of the new film Your Monster, which stars Barrera, Tommy Dewey, Meghann Fahy, Edmund Donovan, and Kayla Foster.

This is the latest project from director, writer, and producer Caroline Lindy, who looks to take one of cinema’s most iconic tales and give it a new spin. Your Monster looks to be a romantic monster movie, much like the iconic tale of Beauty and the Beast. The movie is based on Caroline Lindy’s short film from 2019.

The synopsis reads: “After her life falls apart, soft-spoken actress Laura Franco finds her voice again when she meets a terrifying, yet weirdly charming, monster living in her closet.”

Your Monster is not the only monster movie Melissa Barrera will star in; the actress is awaiting the release of the still-untitled Universal Monsters movie from Radio Silence, who brought her into the mainstream with their work on Scream and Scream VI. She is also attached to the erotic horror The One alongside Nicholas Hoult and Lana Condor.

Your Monster will serve as an official selection of the Midnight program at Sundance 2024.
