Twelve-time Oscar nominated cinematographer Roger Deakins is set to reunite with Prisoners and Sicario director Denis Villeneuve for the upcoming sequel to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic Blade Runner.
“Roger is an extraordinary talent and we are very excited that Denis and Roger have chosen to continue their collaboration in bringing the sequel to Blade Runner to the big screen,” state Alcon Entertainment co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.
Blade Runner 2 has been written by Hampton Fancher (co-writer of the original) and Michael Green (Green Lantern), with Ridley Scott producing. Harrison Ford is confirmed as reprising the role of Rick Deckard, while Ryan Gosling is reported to be in talks to co-star.
