A Robot Named Fight! coming to Nintendo Switch next week

April 21, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Matt Bitner Games’ Metroidvania roguelike title, A Robot Named Fight!, was first released on Steam last September and since then has gained a loyal fan base with plenty of positive ratings from gamers and press alike.  On 26th April A Robot Named Fight! will have the opportunity to gain a whole new following of loyal gamers with its release on the Nintendo eShop for the Switch.  The Switch version will contain all the same features as the Steam version and a brand new secret ending.  You can check out the game’s Nintendo Switch launch trailer below…

In A Robot Named Fight the mechanical gods have ascended and left the lower order robots to carry on with life, unfortunately an ancient entity known as Megabeast is stirring and unleashing its spawn upon the world threatening the robots.  As a lone robot it is up to players to set out on a mission to explore a procedurally generated underground world and retrieve wartime artifacts with which to defeat the Megabeast.

The underworld not only hides the weapons necessary to save the robot planet but also the secrets of the lost history of robot civilization.  Artifacts will need to be discovered that will unlock new abilities and reveal new paths but avoid the fleshy grotesque creatures that are out to destroy our robot world.

A Robot Named Fight features:

  • A procedurally generated labyrinth of tunnels with more than 4 billion unique runs.
  • Over 70 menacing enemies to destroy.
  • Play solo or with a friend in local co-op.
  • Lots of different items to help you on your way.
  • Seeded runs.
  • More synergies between weapons and power ups.
  • An entirely new secret area with a new ending.
