Ralph Fiennes and Rebecca Hall join John Michael McDonagh’s The Forgiven

May 7, 2018 by Gary Collinson

The Guard and Calvary director John Michael McDonagh has tapped Ralph Feinnes (A Bigger Splash) and Rebecca Hall (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women) to lead the cast of his new film The Forgiven, which also has Said Taghmaoui (Wonder Woman) and Mark Strong (Deep State) attached to star.

Based on the novel by Lawrence Osborne, The Forgiven explores “the dramatic fallout following a random accident on the lives of an English couple (Fiennes and Hall), their friends and the local Moroccans who all converge on a luxurious desert villa during a decadent weekend-long party.”

Filming on The Forgiven is slated to get underway early in 2019 in Morocco. In addition to writing an directing, McDonagh will also produce with Elizabeth Eves through their House of Un-American Activities production company. It will mark McDonagh’s fourth feature after The Guard, Calvary, and 2016’s War on Everyone.
