In the year 2017, a deadly plague wipes out over 90 percent of the world’s population, leaving only a small percentage immune. In 2043, James Cole, a man trying to survive in the chaos left in the plague’s wake, is recruited by a group of scientists to be sent back in time to stop the plague from ever happening. In the past, he enlists the help of Dr. Cassandra Railly, a virologist whose message is responsible for the clues that lead Cole to the architects of the plague: the Army of the 12 Monkeys.
