Laurence Fishburne reveals how he came to be a part of the MCU with Ant-Man and the Wasp

June 26, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Ant-Man and the Wasp star Laurence Fishburne has spoken about how it was that he came to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The MCU is a verified who’s who of big name Hollywood stars and with the huge success the movies continue to find, it’s not surprising that more and more actors are looking to become a part of the fun.

This is just how popular actor Laurence Fishburne felt before he landed the part of Bill Foster/Goliath in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp. Speaking at a press conference for the movie (via ComicBook.com), the actor spoke about how it all came to be:

“It is not the first Marvel role to come my way,” Fishburne commented, referring to his voicing of the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four. “I’ve been a reader since I was eight. I’ve been a fan my whole life. Really enjoyed the movies and what they’ve done with the MCU … I realized that I was on the lot of Marvel and working on ABC’s Blackish and remembered I had worked with Louis Desposito and realized I should go talk to them and say, ‘Hey, what do I gotta do to be in the movies?’ And they were kind enough to say, ‘We’ll think about that Fish!'”

Fishburne’s story certainly proves that if you don’t ask, you don’t get, and now fans can look forward to seeing the man himself starring in the MCU’s next outing. Are you looking forward to seeing what Fishburne will bring to the MCU?
