USA Network cancels Colony after 3 seasons

July 23, 2018 by Gary Collinson

According to Deadline, USA Network has cancelled its sci-fi drama Colony, with this week’s season three finale set to serve as the conclusion to the series.

Created by Carlton Cuse and Ryan J. Condal, Colony stars Josh Holloway (Lost) and Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead) as Will and Katie Bowman, a couple living in a dystopian Los Angeles under military occupation by the Transitional Authority, an organisation serving an extraterrestrial race known as the Hosts.

Colony enjoyed strong ratings during its first two seasons, becoming the No.1 scripted cable series on Thursday nights with an average of 2.2 million viewers.

However, after a forced production move from Los Angeles to Vancouver, the show’s ratings have slipped during its third season, averaging 1.3 million viewers per episode with the lowest 18-49 demo season average among USA’s current drama series.
