Dan Stevens joins Harrison Ford in Call of the Wild

July 25, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Last week it was announced that Harrison Ford is set to star in an adaptation of the classic Jack London novel Call of the Wild for 20th Century Fox, and now comes word that he is to be joined in the cast by Beauty and the Beast and Legion star Dan Stevens.

The film is being directed by Chris Sanders (The Croods) from a script by Michael Green (Logan). Ford is portraying prospector John Thornton, while Stevens’ role is being kept under wraps, although it is said to be “significant”.

Call of the Wild takes place in the late 19th century during the Klondike Gold Rush in Yukon, Canada, and follows a dog called Buck who is stolen and sold into service as a sled dog in Alaska, where he has to learn to survive.

Stevens is currently shooting an as-yet-untitled sci-fi from Legion creator Noah Hawley, and will next be seen in The Raid writer-director Gareth Evans’ hotly-anticipated action thriller Apostle.
