Deadline is reporting that Constantin Film is about the go into production on an adaptation of Timur Vermes bestselling novel Look Who’s Back, which sees Adolf Hitler waking up alive and well in modern-day Germany.
The film will adopt a similar approach to Borat, with David Wnendt (Combat Girls, Wetlands) directing German actor Oliver Masucci taking on the role of the Fuhrer as he pops up in various unsuspecting real life situations around Germany. Production is now underway, and the film is slated for release later this year.
Released in 2011, Look Who’s Back has sold over 2 million copies in Germany alone and has since been published in over 40 countries.
