The Raid 3 probably isn’t going to happen says director Gareth Evans

September 26, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Gareth Evans, director of The Raid 1 and 2, says that The Raid 3 isn’t a likely prospect.

The Raid films have gained a considerable fan-base around the world thanks to the memorable martial arts sequences, choreography, and brutal action found within them. Many fans would love to see a third instalment in the series from Gareth Evans but the director isn’t too keen on the idea.

Evans new film, Apostle, released a trailer recently, and the director has told Slash Film that he doesn’t think he will be returning to the franchise anytime soon, saying that he “just didn’t want to be doing Raids all the time.

“And the more time has gone on from that, the less interested I’ve been to go back there. What we did with The Raid 2, we kinda close that off nicely, so it didn’t really appeal to me to jump back into that world again.”

Of course, fans have learned to never lose hope when it comes to the return of dormant franchises so perhaps Evans might change his mind down the road. For now, Apostle looks like it will be a memorable trip for admirers of the director.
