Tom Holland announces that filming on Spider-Man: Far From Home has wrapped

October 17, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After kicking off production back in July, star Tom Holland has now taken to Instagram to announce that filming has officially wrapped on Marvel and Sony’s 2019 superhero sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home. Holland shared three tweets counting down the final day on set, as well as giving us another look at the black and red Spidey costume he’s been wearing for the past week or so of filming.

As with all Marvel projects, specific plot details for Spider-Man: Far From Home have been kept tightly under wraps, but we do know that Holland’s Peter Parker will be taking a trip to Europe long with his Midtown classmates, and that in addition to the costume above, he’ll also be bringing an all-black Noir-inspired Spider-Man suit. The webslinger will also be sharing the screen with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, as well as doing battle with Jake Gyllenhaal’s villain Mysterio.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released on July 5th 2019 and features the return of Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Michael Keaton (The Vulture), Zendaya (Michelle), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Angourie Rice (Betty Brant), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Martin Star (Mr. Harrington), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), with Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) as Mysterio and J.B. Smoove (Uncle Drew), Remy Hii (Crazy Rich Asians) and Numan Acar (Homeland) in undisclosed roles.
