Hellboy helmer Neil Marshall to direct horror The Reckoning

October 22, 2018 by Gary Collinson

British filmmaker Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent) is set to follow the upcoming Hellboy reboot with The Reckoning, a horror set up at MoviePass Films.

Marshall – whose recent directing credits include episodes of Game of Thrones, Westworld and Lost in Space – has written with Edward Evers-Swindell (Dark Signal) and actress Charlotte Kirk (Ocean’s Eight), the latter of whom will also star.

According to Deadline, The Reckoning “is set around the witch hunts and the great plague in England in 1665 and follows Evelyn Haverstock (Kirk), a young widow, haunted by the recent suicide of her husband Joseph, who is falsely accused of being a witch by her jealous Landlord, Squire Pendleton, after she rejects his unwanted advances.”

Filming on The Reckoning is set to get underway in Wales in January; Marshall’s Hellboy meanwhile is set for release in April 2019.
