RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures release date announced

November 16, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Industry veteran Atari has announced they will be releasing RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures on the Nintendo Switch in Europe on 29th November and in North America on 13th December.  RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures is Atari’s first game for the Switch and comes with brand new twists designed to take advantage of this unique console.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures will offer players three distinct game modes – Adventure Mode (Campaign mode), Scenarios and Sandbox.  Each mode will give players the chance to build over 120 thrilling rides, restaurants and shops and an intuitive coaster builder will let players create exciting roller coasters easily and quickly.  There will be four uniquely themed environments with the addition of water and terraforming options.

The game features:

  • Three fun filled game modes – Adventure, Scenario and Sandbox.
  • Adventure Mode’s brand-new Event System makes every playthrough unique.
  • Customise rides, roller coasters, shops and restaurants with over 50 vivid colours.
  • Customise the park with pre-made path, foliage and river tiles.
  • Seven types of fully customisable roller coasters, including Wooden, Steel, Winged, Hyper, Inverted, Dive and Accelerator.
  • Over 120 wacky rides, restaurants and shops for your park, including the Merry-go-Round and Roto-Drop.
  • Use either Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers or touchscreen controls to play.

“This announcement illustrates our strategy,” said Fred Chesnais, Chief Executive Officer, Atari. “It highlights our overall corporate plan – first our ability to produce high-quality games, second to outsource some segments of the value chain to key industry players, and lastly, it keeps us on track to reach our objective of profitable growth for the current financial year.”

RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures is out soon.
