Rambo V: Last Blood will take Rambo on “a real dark journey”, says Sylvester Stallone

December 13, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After announcing earlier this month that filming has wrapped, Sylvester Stallone has now shared some comments on the upcoming sequel Rambo V: Last Blood, describing it as “very, very intense” and stating that it will take Rambo on “a real dark journey”.

“In this final Rambo, he finally finds what he assumes to be peace, love, belonging, family,” states Stallone. “And when that is taken, everyone can imagine losing the thing that you most price, the thing that you most love, the thing that you would gladly die for when that is taken. And it takes a man on a real dark journey. It sounds like its very depressing but its not. It’s a kid’s film, actually, they got Reindeers in the background, snow and gumdrops falling its going to be really wonderful. No, actually this is going to be a very very intense Rambo. And I’m incredibly proud to have been a part of it, its been an amazing odyssey. And it’s coming your way soon.”

Rambo V: Last Blood will see the former Green Beret pulled out his peaceful retirement as a horse rancher as he ventures across the U.S.-Mexican border to rescue his friend’s kidnapped daughter, only to find himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most ruthless drug cartels.

Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) directs, with Stallone joined in the cast by Paz Vega (The OA), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Snowfall), Adriana Barraza (The Strain), Yvette Monreal (Faking It), Oscar Jaenada (The Shallows) and Joaquin Cosio (Narcos: Mexico).
