Kit Harington says Game of Thrones’ final season was “designed to break us”

January 10, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Kit Harington, one of the stars of HBO’s Game of Thrones, says that the final season was meant to break the actors.

There is a lot of anticipation from fans regarding the final ever season of Game of Thrones, set to debut this April. The season is said to be a colossal affair with each episode feeling like a movie.

Such an undertaking must have been hard on the actors and this is just what Kit Harington (Jon Snow) declared it to be. Speaking to GQ about his experience making the final season, he said:

“The last season of Thrones seemed to be designed to break us. Everyone was broken at the end. I don’t know if we were crying because we were sad it was ending or if we were crying because it was so fucking tiring. We were sleep deprived. It was like it was designed to make you think, Right, I’m fucking sick of this. I remember everyone walking around towards the end going, ‘I’ve had enough now. I love this, it’s been the best thing in my life, I’ll miss it one day – but I’m done.’”

Fans will be hoping this attitude doesn’t come out onscreen, unless, of course, the characters themselves are meant to come across as dejected and exhausted too. After all, it’s fair to assume that the onscreen will be pretty traumatic.
