Brooklyn Nine-Nine superfan Lin-Manuel Miranda to guest star in upcoming episode

February 12, 2019 by Ricky Church

Self-professed Brooklyn Nine-Nine superfan Lin Manuel Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns) is set to guest star in an upcoming episode of the series. He’ll appear in the March 7th episode ‘The Golden Child’ as Amy Santiago’s (Melissa Fumero) brother and rival.

Miranda was a very vocal supporter of the show and advocated its return after Fox cancelled it last year after five seasons. Thankfully NBC was able to pick it up for a sixth season and initially renewed it for 13-episodes before later extending it to 18.

Among other celebrity supporters for the show’s renewal were Mark Hamill, Sean Astin, Seth Meyers, Guillermo del Toro and Patton Oswalt. Oswalt had already guest-starred in the show’s first season, but co-creator Dan Goor has previously said how much he and the cast would love to have any of their A-list fans appear on the show.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars Andy Samberg, Terry Crew, Melissa Fumero, Andre Braugher, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Dirk Blocker and Joel McKinnon Miller. It follows Brooklyn’s 99th precinct of cops and detectives as they solve crimes and navigate their insane lives.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs on NBC Thursday at 9 PM. Miranda will guest-star in March.
