Roguelike platformer Dig Dog now on Nintendo Switch

April 27, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Wild Rooster has released their rougelike platformer Dig Dog on the Nintendo Switch.  This platformer takes players to a strange world for a spot of bone hunting.  Watch the game’s launch trailer below….

In Dig Dog players take control of a small dog who needs to search through a strange abstract world filled with creatures of the night in search for his bones.  Players will need to dig through the ground to find their bones but beware of the other creatures.

The game features two game modes, Bone Hunt – players will search for bones and fight enemies through levels of increasing difficulty, and Free Dig – provides an endless digging experience with no game overs through enemies of little challenge.

The game features:

  • Forge your own path as you tunnel through each level.
  • Uncover stranger and more dangerous environments.
  • Hunt for bones and treasure.
  • Discover shops and buy items.
  • Keep sniffing out bones to unlock a variety of colour themes.
  • A unique 8-bit soundtrack.

“Dig Dog is all about creative digging. I love destructive environments. You can pretty much dig up a whole level if you want. Although that can be quite dangerous,” said developer Rusty Moyher. “On a personal note, Dig Dog was the first game I’ve programmed and drawn without using my hands. It was a challenge to make the game this way and I’m quite relieved that it’s now complete.”

Dig Dog is available now from the Nintendo eShop.
