Underwater Ruins Expansion coming to Black Desert Online later this month

May 8, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss have announced that the new Underwater Ruins expansion will arrive on their hit open world action MMORPG Black Desert Online on 22nd May.  This new water themed expansion will see only the most seasoned of adventurers dive into two new locations and face off against some of the fiercest enemies in the game.  See more of the expansion in the new trailer below…..

Two new locations are added in the expansion, The Protty Cave is suitable for skilled adventurers and features a network of dank caverns lit by bioluminescent plants inhabited by a mysterious new race of amphibian creatures; and the Sycraia Ruins are ruins of a long gone civilisation that are still defended by ancient constructs who guard the city’s treasures.  These ruins can be entered by using a special artifact that can be obtained throughout the Underwater Ruins.

Players will face new enemies including a new summonable boss named Sycrid that will require players to work together to beat, once beat he will give players the opportunity to acquire the strongest ring in the game, the Tungrad Ring.

As well as the new features of the upcoming expansion, this weeks maintenance will see the addition of the Great Marni’s Stone, a feature that will see players rewarded for killing monsters that correspond with that of the stone. There’s also more rewards available with the ‘Hands of Gold Returns’ event.
