Chris Hemsworth and Tiffany Haddish to go Down Under Cover in buddy cop comedy

May 9, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Endgame) and Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip) are set to star in Down Under Cover, a buddy cop movie from writer Peter Hoare (Kevin Can Wait).

Said to be in the spirit of films like 48 Hours and Rush Hour, the film will see Hemsworth’s detective going undercover to crack a series of casino heists where the prime suspects are a troupe of Australian male erotic dancers. Forced to team up with Haddish’s lone wolf, the unlikely duo set out to score the biggest bust of their careers.

The project is being shopped around Cannes, and has both Hemsworth and Haddish on board as producers.

Hemsworth can currently be seen in Marvel’s box office juggernaut Avengers: Endgame, and next appears opposite Tessa Thompson in the sci-fi comedy adventure Men in Black: International, while Haddish has crime drama The Kitchen and animated sequel The Secret Life of Pets 2 incoming this year.
