Turn based strategy Goblin Squad out now on Steam

May 10, 2019 by Andrew Newton

34BigThings and Event Horizon Studios have announced the release of Goblin Squad on Steam.  This adventure driven strategy game will see players guide their band of hungry goblins through the lands of humans on a pillaging spree to topple the kingdoms of men and build a lasting legacy of goblin domination.

Players will take command of a tribe of unruly and pretty useless goblins and lead them on a quest to defeat the humans and take control of their lands.  On the journey to the human lands, players will be able to conquer and recruit other tribes and loot as much food and gold as they can on the way.  Goblins are a treacherous bunch and will not hesitate to attempt to overthrow you so find them, kill them and feed their remains to the others.

Goblin Squad features:

  • Move the tribe in turns and defeat the humans before the month runs out, or gain precious time by interfering with the human plans.
  • Tactical Combat find ways to outsmart and outmaneuver unique human armies in every mission.
  • 16 different goblin classes, each with unique abilities.
  • Recruit and field new goblins to level them up and gain more abilities.
  • Pillage the human lands in three procedural maps and harvest resources unique to each terrain.

“Goblin Squad marks the completion of a very significant project.” says Valerio Di Donato, 34BigThings’ CEO “It is the product of a very fruitful collaboration we’ve had with Event Horizon School, the biggest game development school in Italy, shaping the educational paths of its students and their outcome”.

“The game went through a few iterations over the years.” – says Gabriele Gallo, Goblin Squad’s game designer – “It started as a sort of blend between chess and XCOM, and it still retains some of the charm of those games, while being tighter and more compact than the latter, with more accessible mechanics and understandable dynamics.

Goblin Squad is available now on Steam.
