September 25, 2015 by Tom Beasley

Ridley Scott has confirmed that he will direct all three of the currently announced Prometheus sequels, in an interview with Den of Geek.

Promoting his new release The Martian, Scott told the website that he would direct all three of the sequels to the 2012 sci-fi film, starting with Alien: Paradise Lost in March 2016.

The British director also admitted that he “should have done it” last time, referring to the 1980s when he handed the keys to his Alien sequel to James Cameron.

Scott was also asked about the allusions to poet Milton in the Alien: Paradise Lost title.

He said: “It’s too simplistic to call the bad element in [Alien: Paradise Lost] evil, but it’s closer to answering the question, who and why would any being create such a monster, and for what reason?”
