Abigail Breslin to play Matt Damon’s daughter in Stillwater

July 31, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Following on from last week’s casting of Matt Damon (The Martian), it has now been announced that Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) has also signed on to appear in director Tom McCarthy’s (Spotlight) next film Stillwater.

The project, which McCarthy has written with Thomas Bidegain and Noe Debre, sees Damon playing an oil rigger from Oklahoma who travels to Marseille in an effort to exonerate his daughter, who has been imprisoned for a murder she claims not to have committed.

Breslin was last seen in 2017’s TV remake of Dirty Dancing, and is set to reprise her Zombieland role as Little Rock alongside Woody Harrelson, Jessie Eisenberg and Emma Stone in October’s Zombieland: Double Tap. You can watch the trailer for the sequel here.
