Spirit Hunter: NG launching on consoles, PC and Vita this October

August 14, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Aksys Games has announced that the second game in the Spirit Hunter series, Spirit Hunter: NG, will be launching on 10th October for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and PS Vita.

Spirit Hunter: NG follows the story of a cursed man who sets out on a quest to discover who – or what – is responsible for the disappearance of his sister. In order to save his sister, the protagonist must team up with shady characters, battle spirits of legend, and make tough decisions that can alter the ending of the game.

Despite Spirit Hunter: NG being the second game in the series, following Spirit Hunter: Death Mark, NG will feature a brand-new cast of characters in a variety of interactive horror experiences set in Tokyo. Here are a few more key features from the official description:

  • Creeping Horrors, Familiar Settings – Spirit Hunter: NG weaves fear seamlessly into the mundane. Face down monsters in quiet residential streets, neighbourhood parks, and even the protagonist’s own home. Be careful—terror lurks behind every corner.
  • Search For Clues – Use a flashlight to examine each location in order to solve the game’s terrifying mystery.
  • More Than A Visual Novel – Spirit Hunter: NG offers an immersive and exciting gameplay experience, in which players must make decisions at key moments in order to survive. Players navigate choices via a “Judge System,” allowing them to respond to each event with a spectrum of reactions.
  • Beautiful But Deadly – The game features gorgeous illustrations from artist Fumiya Sumio, who makes the terror in each character’s face impossible to miss and renders horrifying spirits with stunning detail.
