Apocalypse movie These Final Hours heading to the small screen

October 5, 2015 by Luke Owen

Originally published October 5, 2015. Updated April 13, 2018.

Having debuted at Cannes Directors Fortnights last year and FrightFest this year, Australian apocalypse movie These Final Hours is heading to the small screen for a spin-off TV series.

The film follows a world which has just been struck by a meteorite and is heading for destruction. As America and Europe are wiped out, it’s just Australia left which is where we find James who is struggling to decide the best course of action to spend his final hours on earth. The new series will focus on three siblings in America, and is aiming to air on cable. Original writer/director Zak Hilditch is on board to write and direct this new project.

These Final Hours, set after a world-ending meteor strike, follows three siblings in the San Francisco Bay Area as they race to get to their estranged father’s bomb shelter that can withstand the end of days. The series tackles the question of not only what would you do, but how would you want to remember yourself if the world was ending.
