First look at Batman in Superman: Red Son animated movie

September 28, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Following on from last week’s official image and voice cast reveal, we’ve now got another still from the upcoming animated feature adaptation of Superman: Red Son, this time giving us a first look at the movie’s Batman, complete with ushanka cowl; check it out here…

Based on the Mark Millar ‘Elseworlds’ comic book from 2003, Red Son reimagines the Man of Steel with the infant Kal-El crash landing in the Soviet Union as opposed to Smallville, where he is raised by the State to be “the Champion of the common worker who fights a never-ending battle for Stalin, socialism, and the international expansion of the Warsaw Pact.”

Superman: Red Son is set  for release in early 2020 and features a voice cast that includes Jason Isaacs (Star Trek: Discovery) as Superman, Amy Acker (The Gifted) as Lois Lane, Diedrich Bader (Batman: The Brave and the Bold) as Lex Luthor, Vanessa Marshall (Star Wars Rebels) as Wonder Woman, Phil Morris (Doom Patrol) as James Olsen, Paul Williams (Goliath) as Brainiac, Sasha Roiz (Grimm) as Hal Jordan, Phil LaMarr (Supergirl) as John Stewart, Roger Craig Smith (Batman Ninja) as Batman, Jim Meskimen (Constantine: City of Demons) as John F. Kennedy and Travis Willingham (Batman: Bad Blood) as Superior Man.
