Daniel Brühl says his Baron Zemo won’t wear the mask and will be very different from the comics

October 20, 2015 by admin

With all the excitement of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we can’t forget that Captain America: Civil War is on its way next year, pitting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against each other. However, while Marvel are often praised for how close they keep their characters to their comic book alternatives, Daniel Brühl has told Business Insider that his Baron Zemo is very “different”, and won’t be wearing the mask.

“He does not wear the mask,” the actor said bluntly.

“It’s loosely connected to this character,” he added with regards to his version of Baron Zemo being different to the comics. “But that’s what I like about the Marvel guys, some of the characters and things they’re dealing with always reference to current events so my character is from a different area than you would think.”

Will we see Baron Zemo crop up again in the MCU? “There’s a possibility,” he teases. “That’s the way it’s written.”
